Welcome to Rainbow Crossing. I’m Dr. Megan Macleod and I specialize in end of life care for small animals. I understand the profound connection between pets and their families. My aim is to offer compassionate support during this challenging time, enabling you to say farewell your cherished pet in the comfortable environment of your own home. I strive to make your pet's final moments as gentle and loving as they can possibly be.

What to expect at your appointment

Once your appointment has been scheduled, I will arrive at your house at the chosen time. We will review the procedure together, confirm all aftercare and keepsake options and complete payment, if this has not already been done. Your pet will then be given an injection to relax them and they will fall asleep so that the rest of the procedure is as stress-free as possible. Once your pet is asleep, an IV catheter will be placed and an anesthetic medication will be given followed by the euthanasia medication. You are welcome to be close to your pet, or even holding them during the procedure. You can expect your appointment to be anywhere from 30-60 minutes in length.
After Care
You have several options for after care for your companion. If you are able, you can choose to bury your pet yourself. I also offer cremation services through Primrose Pet Crematorium with respectful transportation included. They offer private cremation and communal cremation services and cost is based on size.
